Hannamari Ruohonen ist eine 42-jährige Illustratorin aus Tampere, Birkaland . Sie studierte für einen Master of Arts an der Universität für Kunst und Industrie in Helsinki.
Hannamari traf einen vollständig schwedischsprachigen Mann aus den Åland-Inseln und beschloss daraufhin, nach Åland zu ziehen. Die Natur und der Åländische Lebensstil zogen sie an.
Heutzutage sind Hannamaris Kinder zweisprachig. Sie hat einen Job in einer Bibliothek und hat Fernzugriff auf finnische Buchverlage, für die sie als Illustratorin und Autorin arbeitet.
